Kulgam Parts Observe Shutdown To Mourn Militant Killing

A complete shutdown is being observed on Monday in most parts of the Kulgam district in south Kashmir after a militant was killed in an encounter late last evening.

All shops and business establishments are closed in Khudwani, Qaimoh, Buchroo, Tarigam and Yaripora areas while as traffic is off the roads.

An army trooper was also injured in the operation launched in Buchroo village of the district.

Police said that a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant Dawood Sheikh was killed in the gunfight.

The 21 year old Dawood was active since 2014 and the most wanted militant involved in a number of killings of army and police personnel, police said.(Agencies)
