Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today said that Restructured Accelerated Power Development Scheme (R-APDRP) has been sanctioned by the Centre for Jammu and Kashmir in 2009 for Rs 1817.26 crore.

Replying to a question by Pawan Kumar Gupta, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the aim of the implementation of R-APDRP in the state is to reduce the AT&C losses to 15 per cent after competition of the project.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that R-APDRP scheme is to be completed in a time bound manner failing which the grant in aid will be converted as loan. He said but on the request of the State government, the last date has been extended to November 2016 by the Centre. He said that it is expected that the scheme would be completed in a time bound manner in the State.
