Srinagar: A delegation of Jama’at-e-Islami J&K comprising Advocate Zahid Ali, Habib-ullah Badam, Parvaiz Ahmad and Muhammad Ayoub Falahi visited the families of Adil Ahmad Sheikh, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Sartaj Ahmad Lone who were martyred yesterday in a gunfight at Ashmuqam, Bijbihara.
During condolence meetings at the respective places, delegation expressed solidarity on behalf of Jama’at with the bereaved families. Speaking at the occasion, Advocate Zahid Ali said, our youths have given sacrifices for the movement and left a responsibility on us to continue this just cause without any sell out and exhaustion to its logical end. It is the sacrifices of our brave and daring youths who took Kashmir movement to international forums, he added. He threw a brief light on the philosophy of Martyrdom in the light of Quran and Hadith.
He said a true Muslim is one who follows every commandment of Allah and sacrifice everything even his life for the sake of Allah. New-Delhi is a signatory in resolutions passed by United Nations Security Council and despite this, they claim Kashmir as integral part of India, he said. He said India is telling lie and befooling world forums and till India did not change its behavior and pave a way for plebiscite, uncertainty will continue in Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate Zahid Ali said.
He reiterates Jama’at’s stand on Kashmir issue and said its solution lies on the UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir today strongly condemned an assault on trucker namely Farooq Ahmad at Nandni on Srinagar-Jammu highway and termed it shameful and barbaric.
In a statement to KNS, Jama’at Spokesperson Advocate Zahid Ali said the current domination has totally failed to protect the lives of innocent people.
Expressing anger over the incident, he said, PDP-BJP regime has two different ideas in Kashmir. One hand, adults as well as infants from Kashmir have been booked under the garb of law and order, and in other hand, communal forces in Jammu despite brandishing weapons and threatening minorities; authorities let them free to act.
He said, for the lust of power PDP has given free hand to communal forces like RSS and BJP to persecute minorities in Jammu. The said attack on trucker at Srinagar-Jammu highway is not the first episode but became a routine practice of harassing and killing Kashmiri’s from vicious elements, he added.
Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned this shameful and barbaric act and urges authorities to restrain these fascist and communal forces and make the highway peaceful and convenient for the movement. (KNS)
