Dy CM Discusses Land Compensation Issues Of Udhampur-Banihal Stretch Of Highway

Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh today convened a meeting to discuss the issues raised by the people of Ramban regarding compensation against land and structures being acquired for upgradation of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal, Administrative Secretary PWD (R&B) Rohit Kansal, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, Secretary Revenue Mohammad Ashraf, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Alok Mengi, representatives of National Highway Authority and prominent citizens of Ramban district.

Divisional Commissioner briefed the Deputy Chief Minister about the process of acquiring land and structures for the four-laning of Udhampur-Banihal section of National Highway project and also apprised the meeting about the compensation assessment process.

The Deputy Chief Minister asked the concerned departments to look into the issues brought up by the people and reexamine the compensation cases as per the norms adding that the concerned agencies should work in tandem to remove the bottlenecks in land acquisition and avoid inconvenience to the people.

Dr Singh that the vital projects should not be delayed and the fix timelines should be strictly adheres to give accelerates the development tempo.
