Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday advised Pakistan against “begging” India for a dialogue.

He claimed that India was pressurising Pakistan by creating a “false impression of terrorism”.

This, he said, was being done so that Pakistan surrendered its stand regarding the Kashmir issue. “… and will put it on the backburner.”

He advised the Pakistan government not to “beg” for talks with India “but instead they should send them a clear message that the real and core issue between the two nations is the Kashmir dispute and until this issue is solved according 2016_3$largeimg224_Mar_2016_213117360to the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, the peace, development and the prosperity in this region is a distant dream.”

Geelani said this in a detailed meeting with the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in New Delhi today, said a statement.

“This 2-hour-long meeting took place today afternoon at Pakistani High Commission office at New Delhi,” it said.

“Mr. Abdul Basit gave assurance to the Pro-freedom leader of Kashmir that their country will not show any flexibility in its principle stand with regarding to the Kashmir dispute.”(Agencies)
