The former education minister and PDP senior leader Naeem Akhtar said on Sunday that the party is working over how to move ahead on agenda of alliance and that the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has been mandated to take final call over the government formation.
As the lull over the fate of BJP-PDP bonhomie continues in the state, Akhtar said that the party is yet to take final call over whether it would continue its alliance with the BJP. He said that the party has authorized its chief Mehbooba Mufti to take final call over the alliance and that the PDP leadership is working on how to move ahead on the agenda of alliance signed in February last year by the BJP and the PDP after the 2014 polls threw fractured mandate.
“We have assured Mehbobaji of all the support from the entire party. It is she who will take final call over the present situation. Agenda of Alliance is the Holy Scripture for PDP and many things have happened under late Mufti Sayeed as CM,” Akhtar said after attending five hour long meet which was chaired by the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti at her Fairview residence at Gupkar.
Akhtar further hailed the Indo- Pak dialogue process, saying the chief minister Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed always strived for the better Indo-Pak ties. He said the present initiative by both the countries is welcome step and worth to hail.
Interestingly, the deadlock over the government formation continues in Jammu and Kashmir after the demise of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7, this year in AIIMS New Delhi. (KNS)
