While terming as “wrong” the use of force against students, Congress Party on Monday demanded a judicial probe into the NIT Srinagar crisis.

2016_4$largeimg211_Apr_2016_150206770All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Ambika Soni told media-persons in Srinagar that a judicial enquiry should be ordered to ascertain what happened at the campus.

“…the parties which formed the government are playing politics over students. We want the truth should come to the fore. We want an impartial judicial enquiry which will establish what happened, why it happened and on whose orders did it happen,” said Soni.

Without naming Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, she asked why outsiders were trying to visit NIT campus in Srinagar.

“What is the need for outsiders to attempt to interfere in the issues of students,” asked Soni.

Kher was sent back from Srinagar airport yesterday after police feared his presence at the campus would provoke more unrest.(Agencies)
