Srinagar: The situation has again turned restive in Kashmir after the killing of teenage boy in security forces firing in south Kashmir’s Shopian town on Tuesday evening.

Adil Farooq- calash 12th student 0f Ganowpora village was hit by a bullet that the security forces fired to disperse the crowd obstructing the counter insurgency operation. The crowd, however, managed to offer the escape route to the trapped militants.

 The security forces had encircled the village in the evening of Tuesday after they received the inputs of militant presence there and launched the operation to flush them out.

The killing of the youth triggered massive protests in the area prompting authorities to impose the curfew like restrictions and suspend the internet services in the region. The security forces said that two militants were holed in a house in the same village that flee under the cover of mob.

“We maintained the restrain to avoid civilian killings. The militants took advantage of crowd and ran away as people defied restrictions and obstructed our anti militancy operation,” said the senior security official, wishing not to named.
