Integrating Three Divisions of JK by Tourism: Farooq Shah

Srinagar: In a significant move the tourism department on Sunday initiated a strategy to divert maximum chunk of Veshnoo Devi tourist flow to Kashmir, Ladakh and vice versa in this direction the travel trade bodies and the tourism directorate of Jammu and Kashmir division had a brain storming session chaired by secretary tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah in Jammu in which the methods and means to execute this innovative idea of Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was discussed threadbare.

The two directorates of Kashmir and Jammu will ensure to incentivize and encourage the tourists visiting Kashmir to visit the Jammu and Ladakh region and same will be ensured to divert maximum pilgrim tourists of Veshnoo Devi to Kashmir and Ladakh including Chenab valley.

The secretary while giving details of this new idea said that to realize the dream of Honble CM to see JK as one of the best tourist destination the department will execute this idea for integrating the different divisions of state through tourism trade which will reap multilayer benefits to people of three regions particularly the stake holders of tourism industry.

The secretary instructed the officials to come up with affordable packages and ensure the smooth and comfortable hospitality to the tourists.

The meeting was attended by Director Tourism Kashmir Mehmood shah, Jammu Verma, special secretary tourism Mohammad Hussain Mir and other officials who will together visit Katra and other tourist spots of Jammu and then in Kashmir to come up with a practical road map for effective implementation of this idea.
