Canoe Polo-Dragon Boat National Championship

J&K Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association gave a rousing reception to paddlers who returned to Valley after participating in National Canoe Polo and Dragon Boat Championship.

 The 32 contingent boys and girls participated in the Open All India National Canoe Polo and Dragon Boat Championship held at Udaipur Rajasthan held on February 11to February 14.  The Team bagged three gold one silver and two bronze medals in the competition.  Team was participating under the banner of J&K Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association.  The players and team officials were welcome by CEO, JKAP 12th Bn, Baqar Samoon, SDPO Nehru Park Syed Nasir Ahmad, Muhammad Shafi Shah (member) J&K Water Sports Association, Nisar Hussain and Other members of J&K Water Sports Kayaking & Canoeing Association.

 Congratulating and the team President J&K Water Sports Kayaking and Canoeing Association and member of Legislative Council Firdous Tak said “The players have brought laurels for the State by not only excelling in the competition but defeating some of the national teams”.

 He said that the Association was working hard for the promotion of Water sports activity in the State.

“Late Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Syed had envisaged a plan for making Jammu and Kashmir one of the best destination for Water Sports Activities and the Association will not leave any stone unturned to realize his dream,” he said.(Agencies)
