Burhan Killing: Akther Walks Out Of Press Conference, Urges Calm

burhanThe government spokesman and Education Minister, Naem Akther faced embarrassing situation after media men asked him why Chief minister, Mehbooba Mufti doesn’t resign from the job after the killing of sixteen youth in post Burhan Killing.

“In 2010, Mehbooba Mufti as opposition leader sought the resignation from Omar Abdullah as chief minister after killings took place. Don’t you think Mehbooba should reason on moral grounds today? A journalist asked in press conference to Akther.

Akther, however, evaded the question and walked out of the conference.

Earlier, he appealed people not to agitate and sought the support of the mainstream and separatist political parties to restore the peace in Kashmir.

“The state cabinet took a serious note of the killings. The government will reach to the bottom of circumstances under which the killings took place,” He said.

Akther said it was the duty of the parents to prevent their children from taking out protests. He said that the there were some elements who are trying to incite the violence in Kashmir. “Wherever the disproportionate use of force has been used we will go to the bottom of it.”
