The police has refuted the allegations of CRPF that their 19 troopers got injured after their vehicle turned turtle due to heavy stone pelting in Bemina Srinagar.

The police said that the allegations are levelled baseless as no stone pelting took place in the area the time when the convoy of CRPF was passing through.

“The CCTV footage was procured and it is clearly seen that the driver lost control which resulted in the mishap,” SSP said, adding the 19 troopers were injured in the incident.

He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered.

Earlier after the accident occurred, the IG CRPF Rajdeep Sahie said that the mishap took place after some “miscreant’s pelted stones” on the vehicle.

“19 troopers suffered injuries in the incident. All the injured have been hospitalised. Nine among the injured were shifted to army’s 92 Base hospital Badamibagh for treatment where the condition of a trooper is stated to be critical,” IG added.
