Beef row: Caught in Controversy, Haryana CM says He was misquoted

New Delhi/Chandigarh: Controversy raged with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar  facing flak for his reported statement “asking Muslims to give up eating beef if they wished to stay in India".


  Even as Mr Khattar said he was 'misquoted' in the interview published in a newspaper,  the Congress described it as "a sad day for India's democracy" while former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah wondered what would happen to Christians in BJP-ruled Goa.(Agencies)
