Auqaf Islamia to set up three Nursing colleges in J&K

Jammu:The Auqaf Islamia Jammu will establish three nursing colleges in Jammu, Kishtwar and Rajouri districts, Minister for Hajj, Auqaf Abdul Rehman Veeri said here today.

While reviewing the progress of setting up the nursing Colleges in the region at a high-level meeting, the Minister said that these colleges would be established shortly at Jammu, Kishtwar and Rajouri with Auqaf funding.

He said that setting up of these colleges would go a long way in meeting the demand for trained human resource for the existing and upcoming health institutions in the state.

He said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the Vice Chancellor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has been tasked to get these nursing colleges established well in time.

"While BGSBU will establish its own School of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences within its Rajouri campus, the other two institutes would be its constituent colleges," he said.

Calling for expediting the process for setting up the colleges, the Minister directed the concerned officials for working out the requisite modalities related to registration, engaging faculty and buildings so that the colleges can be started at the earliest.

The Vice Chancellor, BGSBU Prof Javaid Mussarat briefed the Minister about the measures taken for the establishment of the nursing colleges.

The Minister asked the officials concerned to ensure completion of requisite parameters and modalities well in time for affiliation and registration of these nursing colleges with the Nursing Council of India.
