Anjum Fazli inaugurates Vocational Training Centre

SRINAGAR: Member Legislative Assembly, Anjum Fazli, Tuesday, inaugurated vocational training centre, run by J&K State Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC), here at Natipora. The training centre is sponsored by National Minorities Development & Finance Corporation (NMDFC), Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.

 On the occasion, it was informed that a stipend of Rs 1000 per month shall be paid to each trainee during the training period. MLA stressed upon need to promote opportunities for self-employment and women empowerment, and added economic empowerment is a major tool for women empowerment. She impressed upon beneficiaries to come forward and avail benefits of such beneficial schemes extended by JKWDC.

Earlier, Managing Director, J&K State Women’s Development Corporation Dr. NaheedSoz,  while speaking on the occasion informed about aims and objectives of organizing such training programmes. She stated that the present WDC has benefitted 4440 women beneficiaries by providing credit to the extent of Rs 80 Lakh under micro finance scheme of NMDFC after framing SHGs during various training programmes in jute accessories. MD further informed that besides trainings WDC is also providing market support in shape of exhibitions conducted by WDC within and outside the State.
