Srinagar: Four militants were shot dead by the security forces in Bandipora district of north Kashmir on the wee hours of Monday.
The militants were killed after they attempted to storm into the installation of Paramilitary forces in Sumbal town.
The police said that the militants attempted to carry a suicide attack on the security installation of 45 Batallion of CRPF which was thwarted by timely interception by the forces.
Shesh Paul Vaid in his official tweet confirmed that the militants who got killed attempted to carry a suicide attack.
“JmuKmrPolice killed 4 terrorists at Sumbal #Bandipore who were attempting suicidal attack on CRPF camp. #JaiHind,” tweets DG police Shesh Paul Vaid.
The brief but a fierce gun fight occurred between the two sides which ended up after all the four militants were gunned down.
The operation was carried out jointly by police and CRPF. The township erupted in clashes after the death of militants followed by the suspension of internet and mobile phone services by authorities. The security forces have launched the massive search operation in the area.
