227 Cases Involving Rs 2531 Lakh Approved During Steering Committee Meets At JKEDI

227 cases of aspiring entrepreneurs sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) were approved during meetings of the Steering Committee at Jammu on Friday, said a spokesman.

He said the 94th Steering Committee Meeting of Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) and 44th of Youth Startup Loan Scheme (YSLS) were held under the Chairmanship of Nirmal Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, J&K Government at JKEDI, Jammu.

irector JKEDI; Mohammad Ibrahim, Vice President (A&AP), J&K Bank Limited and sectoral experts from line departments also participated in the meetings.

“Out of 154 cases placed before the Committee under SCFS, 122 cases involving the total project cost of Rs. 1785.37 lacs were approved including Seed Money of Rs. 414.67 lac,” said the spokesman.

He said that twelve cases were rejected for different reasons while the decision on twenty other cases was deferred for want of more clarifications.

 “Out of 114 cases placed before the same Committee under Youth Startup Loan Scheme, 105 cases were approved involving total project cost of Rs. 745.45 lacs.  Decision in respect of 5 cases was deferred as more clarifications were sought,” added the spokesman.

The cases which were deferred will be considered in the next Steering Committee meeting after the relevant issues are clarified, he said.(Agencies)
