2 Cops Killed, 3000 Injured To Handle Kashmir Unrest: Police

The Jammu and Kashmir police today said that in an ongoing unrest after the killing of top Hizb Commander Burhan Wani two cops have got killed and 5000 more were injured to contain the situation.

The Director General Police, K Rajendra said that police exhibited maximum restrain to avoid civilian causalities to deal with the protesters.

“Causalities could have been more had police not exhibited restrain while dealing with the protesters,” he said while speaking at the Police Commemoration Day at Armed Police Complex in Zewan.

94 civilians were killed and over ten thousand injured in forces’ action after large scale protests occurred on July 8 after the killing of top militant commander.
